Once used for centuries by indigenous cultures of Southern Africa, Sceletium is quietly re-emerging as a gentle ally for modern social life. Known for its calming and mood-supportive properties, it helps soften anxiety without dulling awareness which makes it ideal for connection, conversation and groovy-feeling presence.

In a world that often feels overstimulating, Sceletium offers a grounded alternative to artificial confidence boosters (read alcohol). When used with intention, it supports ease, openness and emotional balance.

When I stopped drinking alcohol (having been a heavy drinker my entire adult life) the world around me changed. Some shifts were small, some enormous but most notable were the shifts in social engagements and friendships. On my journey to sobriety I gathered tools and plants, rituals and mentors. All of them taught me, soothed me, grew me.

I received an instruction from a teacher of mine a few years ago: “Turn your mess into your message”. And ever since then I’ve been trying to untangle the threads of my mess so I can reweave them into a coherent message. Mantra evolved as my answer to this calling. A way for me to share what I have learned, what I have tested, what I have found to change my life.

Including Sceletium into my range was the easiest decision to come to. It gives people an alternative to the crutch they might ordinarily turn to, to avoid social anxiety. It empowers us with a choice that’s such an easy one to make: If you could feel safe and confident and connected and elevated, while raising your frequency and bringing wellness to your body with ease … wouldn’t you do just that?
