Mantra is a plant-led offering shaped by care, curiosity and lived experience. It exists for those who are choosing a more intentional relationship with wellbeing; one that honours tradition, respects modern knowledge and leaves space for personal discernment.
Plant-led rituals for modern life

Where Mantra comes from
Mantra was born from a simple observation: modern life moves quickly, but the body does not.
Plants have long been used across cultures to support rest, clarity, vitality and emotional balance. Some of this knowledge lives in written texts and clinical research. Much of it lives in ritual, story and intergenerational practice.
Mantra exists at this intersection. We work with plants that have a history of relationship with the human nervous system, mind and body, and we approach them with respect rather than urgency.
A personal lineage
”Mantra was never about creating a product — it was about creating space. Space to slow down, reconnect, and return to balance.
Cat AndersonMANTRA
Mantra was founded by Cat Anderson, whose work sits at the intersection of plant medicine, research, advocacy and community care.
Cat’s relationship with plants is not theoretical. It has been shaped through years of lived experience, facilitation, study and deep listening — both to people and to the plants themselves. Her work has included involvement in research and advocacy around plant medicines in South Africa, as well as holding spaces where intention, safety and discernment are prioritised.
Mantra is an extension of this approach. It reflects a commitment to integrity, transparency and restraint; offering plant-based support without overstating claims or diminishing the intelligence of the person using them.
Cat remains closely involved in the direction and ethics of the brand, ensuring that Mantra continues to honour both tradition and responsibility as it grows.

How we work with plants
We do not treat plants as products that promise outcomes. Some of the plants we work with have a growing body of modern research. Others are held primarily through cultural lineage and lived experience. We believe both forms of knowledge matter.
Where research exists, we share it transparently. Where evidence is still emerging, we say so clearly. We avoid language that turns plants into solutions or shortcuts.
Our offerings are designed to support everyday wellbeing through consistency, intention and care.
A clear boundary
Mantra offerings are not medicines. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent disease.
We recognise that pharmaceutical and clinical care can be necessary and life-saving for many people. Mantra does not position itself as an alternative to medical treatment.
Our role is to offer plant-based support for general wellbeing, within a broader context of informed choice and personal responsibility.
Why ritual matters
Ritual does not have to be elaborate or spiritualised.
Sometimes it is simply a pause. A breath. A moment of intention woven into an ordinary day.
We design our offerings to fit into real lives, changing seasons and imperfect routines. They are meant to be returned to, not followed rigidly.
Ritual, for us, is about presence rather than performance.
What guides us
We believe trust is built through clarity. This means:
- Clear ingredient lists
- Honest language about what is known and unknown
- Respect for plant lineages and cultural context
- Careful positioning of psychoactive plants
Mantra continues to evolve alongside emerging research, legal context and community dialogue.
A shared inquiry
Mantra is shaped through conversation.
With practitioners, growers, researchers, facilitators and individuals who are asking thoughtful questions about how plants can be worked with responsibly in modern contexts.
This is not a finished philosophy. It is an ongoing inquiry.
Mantra is an invitation to reclaim your joy — to slow the pace, to listen more closely, and to approach wellbeing as a way of life rather than a result..
Stay close to the ritual
Occasional notes on plants, practice and what we are learning along the way. No noise. No pressure. Just thoughtful, poignantly-timed sharing.
